Video Check: Judging Review System at 2025 UK Statics Nationals

Video Check: Judging Review System at 2025 UK Statics Nationals

On November 1st and 2nd, the top UK statics athletes battled it out at one of the country’s biggest fitness events of the year: FitXpo.

Spectators were treated to two full days of action across the Female, Male Pro, and Male Elite categories.

Our Judges

  • Simao Esteves – Pull

  • Ash Robb – Push

  • Clare Livemore – Combinations

Each judge scored athletes out of 5 points per round using a meticulously designed scoresheet created by Olivia Kuit and Ash Robb. Thanks to VIDEO CHECK, judges could also scrub back through footage to ensure accurate scoring.

National Championship Advantage

Our National Championship gives the winning Male Elite and Female athletes priority review for the Barbenders Static Cup.

Video Check was used at this year’s Static Cup in Belgium, and we at the UKCO witnessed first-hand how valuable it is.

A Huge Thank You

A massive thank you to Vincent from the ICSWF (who flew in from the Netherlands) and Lode for volunteering their time and expertise. They ensured Video Check ran smoothly—supporting judges in making accurate calls and giving spectators an enhanced viewing experience by showing what the judges were reviewing in real time.

Why Video Check Matters

Judging statics is notoriously challenging. The discipline is creative, fast-paced, and often subjective depending on the judge’s angle and view of each element.

With only 30 seconds per round to pack in as many moves as possible, things can easily be missed.
Not anymore.

Video Check was used extensively throughout the competition—especially during the Male Elite category on Sunday. When a single move or hold can decide a podium spot, having video verification made results clearer, more accurate, and more fair.

We’re excited to continue using Video Check at future events and to keep growing our partnership with Vincent and the rest of the team!
